The St. Francis Community Mourns the Passing of Mr. David Nease

It is with a heavy heart that I share the passing of Mr. David Nease, a beloved and longtime member of the St. Francis community. I learned of his passing yesterday and immediately offered a prayer for his soul and all who loved him.

Mr. Nease dedicated 39 years to St. Francis High School, beginning in 1970 as the director of Oliver, our first musical. He helped shape our Fine Arts Department and brought music to life on campus with passion and purpose. More than a teacher, he was a mentor, friend, and a true embodiment of the Franciscan spirit.

As we approach the 100th anniversary of our cornerstone, we reflect on the living stones who built this community. Mr. Nease was one of them—a cornerstone whose legacy will echo through the halls of St. Francis for years to come.

Please join me in praying for the repose of his soul. May the angels lead him into Paradise, where his musical gifts will surely bless the choirs of heaven.

Peace and all good,

Friar Matt
