The St. Francis Red Raiders improved their record to 6-0 with a convincing 28-6 home win over the St. Joe’s Marauders. After a scoreless 1st quarter, St. Francis completed a 10 play drive when RB Kimal Clark ran in for a 1 yard TD run, giving the Red Raiders a 6-0 lead. On a first and ten from the St. Francis 38 yard line , the drive was highlighted with a 39 yard pass from QB Owen Workman to WR Jack Raymond, taking the ball down to the St. Joe’s 23 yard line.

Later in the 2 quarter, special teams took over, as Dylan Mack blocked a St. Joe’s punt, which was recovered by Conor Black in the end zone, giving St. Francis a 12-0 lead with 4:27 remaining in the 1st half.
On St. Joe’s next possession, Conor Black once again came through for special teams as he broke through the line, and tackled the St. Joe’s punter at the St. Joe’s 12 yard line, giving the Red Raiders offense excellent field position. On a 2nd down and 6, QB Noah Workman hit WR Jack Raymond with an 8 yard TD pass. QB Workman then hit RB Colton Evoniuk with a pass for the PAT, giving St. Francis a 20-0 halftime lead.

In a scoreless 3rd quarter, St. Francis DB Shane Roberts returned an interception 55 yards for a TD, only to have it called back for a penalty on the return. In the 4th quarter, LB Gavin Calkins recovered a St. Joe’s fumble at the St. Joe’s 8 yard line, once again giving the Red Raider offense great field position. From there, on a 3rd a goal from the 11 yard line, QB Shane Roberts scrambled in for an 11 yard TD run. The PAT attempt was successful as big Joe Black ran in for the PAT conversion, giving St. Francis a 28-0 lead.

The Red Raider defense lost its bid for their 3rd shutout of the season, as St. Joe’s scored on a somewhat controversial 3 yard TD run on the last play of the game. The Red Raider defense and special teams dominated causing 6 St. Joe’s turnovers. In addition to the three turnovers previously mentioned, LB’s Dylan Mack and Gavin Calkins each had a fumble recovery and DB Jack Raymond had an interception. The defense was led in tackles by LB’s Dylan Mack, Gavin Calkins and Hayden Marling with 5 tackles each.
