Varsity Volleyball at Hamburg Tournament

Opponent: Lancaster, Hamburg, St. Joe's Game outcome- please select one: win Final score: 3-3 in round robin; 1st place in tournament Game summary/standout performances: The Red Raiders won the 2019 Hamburg Tournament in convincing fashion as the team defeated Hamburg 2-1 in the finals. Every member of the team saw action during the final tournament of the season as the Red Raiders swept Lancaster 2-0, lost to Hamburg 0-2, and split with St. Joe's to finish with a 3-3 record in round robin play. The team played Lancaster in the semifinals and defeated the Legends 30-20 to advance to the finals against Hamburg. Game one went to the Bulldogs 25-21 as the Red Raiders made numerous serving errors and net violations throughout the contest. Game two was a different story, with the game tied at 9-9 Jack Rooney and the team went on a 16 point run. Rooney was at the serving line for the run and with his accuracy set the tone for the red and white. Zach Miller was outstanding in the backrow defensively. Mario Moretti was awesome setting the offense and giving Jacob Sacilowski, Peyton Consigli, and Joshua Quinn numerous attack opportunities. The Red Raiders won game two 25-9 to force a third and deciding set up to 15. Momentum was on the side of the Red Raiders as the team came out with a 6-0 lead, and eventually pushed it to 8-1. The final score in set three was 15-5 and the Red Raiders claimed their first tournament championship of the season. Mario Moretti had 25 assists and 1 block in the match. Jack Rooney had 8 kills, 2 digs, 1 assist, 1 block, and 1 ace. Jacob Sacilowski had 10 kills, 2 digs, and 2 aces. Josh Quinn had 5 kills, 2 blocks, 1 dig. Peyton Consigli had 3 kills, 3 digs, 1 ace. Zach Miller had 2 digs and 1 ace.
