Freshman Basketball vs Canisius

 The Red Raider Freshmen basketball opened MMAA league play on Friday night versus Canisius at home, and the red and white defeated the Crusaders 38-34 in a defensive battle. Trailing for three quarters, the Red Raiders outscored Canisius 13-7 in the final stanza to claim the four point victory. Charlie Rooney led all scorers with 17 points including four three-pointers and hitting 3 of 4 free throws in the final 12 seconds to seal the victory for the home team. Rooney scored 14 of his 17 points in the second half. Aiden Thomas had 10 points in the win, while Anthony Giardina had 5 points, John Mallory had 4 points, and Shane Colley had 2 points to round out the scoring. The Red Raiders have been rolling since the calendar changed to 2020. The team has started 3-0 with all three wins coming at home. The team will look to continue their winning ways with a home match-up versus St. Mary's on Wednesday night and a home match-up versus St. Joe's on Friday night.
