St. Francis loses to St. Joe’s 1-3
The Red Raiders opened the 2023 season with a tough league game on the road at #6 ranked St. Joe's. The Red Raiders battled all night but came up short losing 1-3: 19-25, 25-22, 19-25, 19-25. Junior Charlie Allesi had 15 kills, 1 assist, and 2 aces while adding 7 digs and 1 block. Senior Jacob Gearhart had 12 kills, 10 digs, and 1 block. Freshman Tristan Kolek in his first career varsity match had 7 kills and 3 aces. Senior Thomas Utter had 35 assists, 2 aces, and 13 digs. Senior Nicholas Szpylman had 3 aces and 7 digs. Senior Noah Cervoni had 1 kill, 3 aces, 4 digs, and 1 block. Junior Payton Mitchell had 2 kills and junior Logan Burns had 1 dig.
