XC Places 4th in Large School Race at WSW

The cross country team placed 4th in the varsity large school division at Sunshine Park in the West Seneca West Invitational on September 16th. The Red Raiders were bested only by teams ranked in the top ten in WNY by the Buffalo News coaches' polls. The team begins league action against Canisius at Como Lake Park on Wed. 9/27 at 5:15pm.
Michael Stadler (Jr.) set the pace for the Red Raiders on a warm and sunny afternoon in West Seneca. He completed the 5k course in 17:50.89, good for 6th overall. He was followed by Nathan Phillips (Sr.) in 18:50.63 (14th). Newcomer Maximus Sturniolo (Jr.) had an impressive debut at the 5k distance running 19:17.87 (18th). Patrick Roof (Sr.) followed closely behind in 19:23.95 (22nd). Ryan Borrello (Jr.) rounded out the scorers in 19:50.16 (26th) and Nathan Klimtzak (So.) debuted as the Red Raiders #6 runner on the day with an impressive first 5k in 20:10.01, good for 28th place.

In the JV race Cameron Bush (Jr) medaled with a 9th place finish in 20:46.99. Dalton Pelow (Jr.) and Teddy Reid (Jr.) also represented the Red Raiders. 

Two freshmen: Brayden Pyzikiewicz and Donavin Wittschack also made their first appearance in the Red and White during the 9th/10th grade race. They gained some valuable first race experience.
